A/B Test Your Landing Page Lightboxes

In Thrive Architect you have a wide choice of lead generation landing pages and without needing any other tools you get access to some pretty advanced list building features like 2-step opt-in forms and exit intent lightboxes.

But that's just scratching the surface.

Did you know that you can combine the power of Thrive Leads with Thrive Architect to get detailed statistics and A/B test opt-in lightboxes on your landing pages?

Let me show you!

Know Your Opt-in Rate and Increase Conversions

Thrive Leads, our list building plugin has one of the most advanced A/B testing and reporting features you'll find in a list building tool.

Combined with Thrive Architect you have everything you need at your fingertips to increase your landing page conversion rates.

Thrive Lightboxes Vs. Thrive Leads "Thriveboxes"

Thrive Lightboxes are included in Thrive Architect and you can think of it as a light version of Thrive Leads Thriveboxes.

When you load up a 2-step lead generation landing page template in Thrive Architect, it will also generate a nicely designed Thrive Lightboxe for you. These lightboxes can be triggered on button clicks or on exit intent (when somebody is about to leave the page). You can connect them to one of the dozens of services we integrate with.

But in order to get detailed statistics and A/B testing features, you need Thrive Leads "Thriveboxes".

We recently made all the landing page lightbox designs available as templates in Thrive Leads so that you can pick the exact template that fits the look of your landing page and tweak it to start an A/B test.

You can find these templates in the lightbox templates cloud. they start with "LP" and the name of the landing page set.

The templates associated with the landing pages start with "LP"

How to Connect a Thrive Leads Thrivebox With a Landing Page

After you've created the Thrivebox in Thrive Leads and started an A/B test. Connecting the lightbox to a landing page is pretty straight forward:

  • Click on the button that triggers the lightbox.
  • Go to Animations & Actions and click on the pencil to edit the action.
  • Select the action "Open Thrive Leads Thrivebox"
  • Pick the Thrivebox you created from the list

  • I would think the landing page would have more influence than the opt in form. Is there a way to A/B test the landing page?

  • This is a great video training, Hanne!! Thank you for showing how easy it is to integrate the power of Thrive Leads (Thriveboxes) with the awesome landing pages in Thrive Architect! I’ve been stumped on how to accomplish this and now I can SEE how easy it is. I was over-complicating the process. I should have known better! 😉 You Thrive Themes peeps are terrific!!

  • I can’t find these templates, I am sorry. When I create a Thrive Leads ‘Thrivebox’, I only see 3 available templates and no access to the cloud(. Could you please help me to find them?

    • Hi Daria,

Make sure to clear your cookies and cache and to have the latest version of Thrive Leads installed. If you still can’t see them, please open a ticket in the support forum. Our support team will be able to help you out.

    • Hi Kevin, Salesforce is not supported by API connection but if you can use an HTML form that should be possible.

  • Could you put a thrive box that’s being split tested as the main landing page so it would effectively be split testing the landing page and not the pop up? Thanks!

    • Sooooo In theory you could (use a Thrive Leads shortcode) but I would never recommend that… The tool was not made for this.
But we’re working on A/B testing for full landing pages 🙂

  • I would like to see a video on how implement the facebook pixel into a thrive leads box so that facebook captures the conversion rate. Or a video on setting up a sales funnel.

  • Thanks Hanne. Your videos are always very clear and easy to follow. My Hero page is working really well from your last tutorial.

But back to this tutorial, there are so many options in Thrive Leads I’m never quite sure which ones to choose, but this has made the A/B split test so much easier.

Like Michael S says, it would be great to have landing page split tests too, but on the other hand right now I’m using Google experiments to do that (and cloning my pages with Thrive Themes).

    • Hi Quentin,

Yes we use Google Analytics/Experiments too for this purpose but we’re working hard on the A/B testing for landing pages 😀

  • A/B testing for full landing pages will provide great insights for me. I can easily analyze every bit of info on that. Please try to do that.

Thanks for the video tutorial, it helped a lot.

  • When I started doing a / b testing on my pages, my conversion into leads increased by 120%. Incredible that like a color change in the button can influence the reader.

  • Hi, does it work if you use a blank landing page that you construct from scratch or only with the set LP landing page sets?
    Thanks 🙂

  • Hey… Have one question. Can we test two different pages? Both made with Thrive… these are not variations… just two different landing pages on the same DNS… Did not see an option for this..
