We've released many sales page templates for the Thrive Landing Pages plugin already and we've provided extensive tutorials for each one of them. But what if you really don't know how to write sales copy at all? What if you don't have the first clue about how to create a compelling sales message?
Well, then this new template was made for you...

If you're a Thrive Landing Pages user, you can find the template for this page in the latest version of the plugin. Look for the template named "Lime Sales Page".
If you find the idea of creating a sales video even more intimidating than the idea of building a sales page, check out this guide to getting started with video.

Thanks again, as always you make things simple and with much value.
I think the most important thing is to show and tell the benefit for the client, because people don’t buy for the features of the product, they buy for the benefit for them.
Also, I think it’s true about don’t write fancy, because you need to use the language of your audience
Thank you for your comment, Humberto! I’m glad to know you’re getting value out of the content we create. 🙂
Great video and information. I am always amazed at how clearly you can articulate what seems daunting to some of us.
I like the simple approach to sales pages and breaking down the benefits into small bites the visitor can appreciate is critical in informing your prospect of how important it is to have your product.
Thank you very much, Mary-Ellen!
Shane, as usual great job on the video. I like the simplicity of it and the straight to the message idea. Used to hate the long drawn out sales pages that took 15-20 minutes to read. I also like the idea of the video and copy to give people the choice. Thanks
Thanks for your comment, William!
Please note that a simpler sales message like this isn’t necessarily better than a long-form sales message. Even if you personally hate them, long sales pages are sometimes what leads to the greatest number of sales. What I’m trying to say is: don’t let your personal preferences get in the way of testing all the viable options and letting the data tell you what really works best. 🙂
Thanks for this video and information, Shane. You always do an amazing job of taking something as intimidating as selling on the web and turn it into something doable. You always give concrete, actionable advice to help everyone get started. The pointer about communicating the benefits of your product as though you’re talking to a friend is excellent advice.
Thank you very much, Ken!
Simply Amazing!
Thank you, Karim!
great topic and thanks for sharing. any news on when we will have a color picker option available ?
We don’t have an update about this, no.
I often view Shane’s videos, as they are smart and well made (like thrivethemes’ products). But here, I was disappointed about the part regarding building a video. A good video is hard to achieve and the difficulty is not the content itself but how to build a video that looks great (animations, sounds, voice over, and so on).
Last question, why youtube and not wistia for hosting this post’s video ?
Hi David,
I believe that the biggest issue people have with creating videos is that they make it into a big deal, in their minds. I linked to this guide in the post to provide further help with video production, but even in that guide, one of my main points is to just get started. Don’t worry so much about animations, audio quality, having the perfect Hollywood smile etc. before ever starting a video.
Just create a crappy video and get it published. No matter what, the first video you make won’t be good anyway. You might as well get it out of the way and start practicing so that the 20th video you make can be good.
Basically, I don’t think it would add a lot of value to this post if I went into a lot more detail about how to make the video (beyond linking to the guide above). Trust me: everything you need in order to make that video is there. I know you don’t want to make one and I know it’s intimidating, but you don’t need anything additional to get started. 🙂
Concerning YouTube: I’ve had a bad experience with YouTube in the past, so I’m cautious about using it. But the Thrive Themes YouTube channel is generating a bit of traffic and so it might be worth pursuing. My rule of thumb is that any video that’s important to the business (directly tied to a conversion goal) does NOT go on YouTube, because losing the video would be very costly for the business.
Educational videos like this one I add to YouTube, since losing them wouldn’t have an immediate negative impact and they could be replaced with alternatives before it turns into a bigger problem.
Absolutely awesome video. This information alone is worth the price of the license.
Thank you very much, Eric!
This was very informative thank you! I may need to rewatch it as I go through my page to make sure I get everything right, but thanks again! Great video.
Thanks for your comment!
I was curious on if Thrive Themes.Landing pages are built inside my current theme or are they a sub domain like LeadPages?
Hello Ryan – it works on your own domain inside your WordPress site.
have a sales page well done is a big challenge yourself, especially if you do not know writing this tip will help staff!
Glad you found this video useful, Rossini!
